Latitude • Latitude lines are parallel lines which run eash and west. • They tell how far up (north) you can go or how far down (south) you can go • The equator divides the earth into two hemispheres. • The lines of latitude are numbered from 0 (at the equator) to 90 at the north and south pole.

  3. Longitude • Longitude lines are imaginary lines that run from the north to the south. • The Prime Meridian is 0 and runs through Grenwich, England. It divides the earth into two hemispheres.
