General Notes • Okay to use color and nice-looking background(s) • But content is the most important • Thus, formatting should complement and highlight content • Same with animation • Use “sans-serif” font (Arial, Calibri, etc) because it’s easier to read on a screen (See, try to read this.) • Use large enough font (See, try to read this.) • Don’t put too much on one slide • ... • This is too much….

  3. General Notes Cont. • Keep items short • Don’t just read from slides • Pictures/graphs/tables are worth 1000 words • Space is your friend • Dark background, light text is best (especially with ambient light), but contrast matters most
