Float • Song • Presentation board • Brochure • Game • Technology/video presentation State Project At home, students complete a state project to display information they have learned about their state. Students will then present their project to their classmates and to parents at a learning fair.

  10. Illinois Famous Person Project Each Student Selects a Famous Person to Research

  11. Illinois Famous Person Project • The project is done in first person and orally presented • Students become the person they researched by dressing in costume

  12. Economic Unit $ Checkbook $ Partnerships $ Advertising $ Money Market $ Teachers’ Store

  13. Checkbooks Students write checks and balance checkbooks with real-world situations.

  14. Partnerships Students form companies and manufacture a product to sell at the Money Market.

  15. Advertising Posters containing company names, logos and a picture of the product are created by students.

  16. Money Market The students buy and sell their products at the Money Market.

  17. Teachers' Store Students spend company profits at the Teachers’ Store.

  21. Machines & Motion Students do hands-on exploration with six simple machines.

  22. Rocks & Minerals Students investigate the properties of rocks. They also observe and study calcite and granite.

  23. Integrated Mystery Unit Unknown powders are tested, fingerprinting is explored and secret pen pals are matched...

  24. Integrated Mystery Unit while solving the mystery in a selected novel.

  25. Food Chains/Owls Students study food chains with a focus on owls and anoles.

  26. Social Emotional Learning We will be using the Second Step program to teach critical social skills.

  27. Reading Contest Students work in teams during reading incentive contests.

  28. Assignment Notebooks Individual assignment books are completed on a daily basis.
