  1. SCIENCE AS A MAP IN TECHNOLOGY SEARCH LEE FLEMING AND OLAV SORENSON 김용원 유정아

  2. INTRODUCTION “기술의 흐름을 파악하면 혁신의 방향을 알 수 있지 않을까?” 에서 시작 ! INVENTION (Operational definition) Process of searching for better combination of exciting components <Local search> Alter one component at a time, either reconfiguring it relative to the other components or replacing it with a different component ( ‘local’ means that research activities relate quite closely to prior research activities)

  3. Reviews_1 <Science and search> Scientific knowledge provides inventors with the equivalent of a map -a stylized representation of the area being searched 장점: facilitate effective search can tell inventors how to avoid wasted effort still alter the search process in a useful manner <Technology landscapes> Offer a useful heuristic for thinking about the space that inventors must search when attempting to discover useful new inventions

  4. Reviews_2 Coupling Two components are coupled if a change made to one component requires a change to the other component for the overall product to work correctly coupling ↑⇒ difficulty of search ↑ average usefulness of inventions ↓ uncertainty of invention ↑

  5. EMPIRICAL ANLYSIS_1

  6. EMPIRICAL ANLYSIS_2

  7. EMPIRICAL ANLYSIS_3

  8. Implication & Discussions Is Coupling’s Speed more important than Coupling? (Citation and Citation’s Speed) Why did the authors use the Count Model(fixed effect negative binomial models) as a methodology? Technical Innovation and Innovation have the same ? Where is Market or User’s Innovation? Is Patent a useful indicator?
