Pin connections are connections with shaped contact and they belong to demountable contacts. • They are common structural component of machine nodes, their usage is extensive, they are standardized and that is why they can be changed. • They are used to transmission of low powers and to fixing and securing mutual position of 2 components. • Further usage is e.g. as security against overloading of components in operation. • Pin is fixed in one or more components with preload caused by dimensional allowance of pushed pin towards hole. • Pins are strained by different powers as cutting pressure and bending. PIN CONNECTIONS
CYLINDRICAL • Suitable for fixing the position of 2 fitting parts • Produced with standardized diameters from Ø 0,6 – 50 mm • Cylindrical pins are made with ground or bright drawn surface in tolerance h8, h11, m6 • Hole adapts pin diameter, hole can be nor free nor too tight Smooth b) With taper end c) With ends determined to riveting d) Flexible PINS CLASSIFICATION
TAPER PINS • Used to fixed connections • Their degree of taper is 1:50, they are normalized • Taper hole must be machined in both parts at the same time – drilling and reaming too • Taper pin is kept in a hole by friction, they are self-locking • It is difficult to force them out or pulled them out, that is why there are used pins with outside and inside thread Smooth b) With outside thread c) With inside thread d) With head PINS CLASSIFICATION
GROOVED • Grooved pins are used for connections • Hole doesn’t need to be reamed • They have 3 longitudinal grooves on the circuit • Pressuring out of grooves initiates overhangs on pin preventing loose of connection Grooved pins b) Grooved pins c) Grooved pins PINS CLASSIFICATION
