  2. First thing to remember is that mudding and taping is and ART form and takes PRACTICE to perfect

  9. It is important to NOTE: There are several ways to apply mud and tape! We are going to focus on the “traditional” way

  10. Starting with the mudding compound The IDEAL consistency for the mud is that of somewhere between peanutbutter and pancake batter

  11. First process is to cover over all drywall screws.

  12. Covering the Seams

  13. Step 1: Seal the Seam with mud

  14. Step 2: Apply the tape over the seam

  15. Step 3: Apply compound over tape

  16. Once compound is applied over the tape, the first part of the job is done.

  17. We then apply 2 more coats of compound over the tape – feathering it wider on each coat

  19. INSIDE CORNERS

  20. Step 1: Apply compound to both sides of the corner

  21. Step 2: Bend the tape into a corner shape

  22. Step 3: Fit into the mudded corner

  23. Step 4: Apply more compound over the tape

  24. We then apply 2 more coats of compound over the tape – feathering it wider on each coat

  25. Outside Corners Using a Corner Bead

  26. There are many different Types of corner bead available

  27. Fit corner bead over corner and nail in place - Use hammer head as a guide for spacing of nails

  28. Fit corner bead over corner and nail in place - Use hammer head as a guide for spacing of nails

  29. Always sand between each coat

  30. Once all three coats have been sanded the room is ready to paint!
