  2. Calverley Parkside Primary School, Calverley Village, Leeds

  3. Mr. Lavelle begins the tour of the school grounds.

  4. Our visitors are interested in our classrooms and how we learn.

  5. Year One lead the way on a tour around the village. Everyone is excited and ready to go!

  6. Away from the school grounds we find the delights of the countryside.

  7. Mrs. Kitson explains all about Calverley Woods. Can you guess what we’re looking at here?

  8. Our Belgian visitors give us a lesson called ‘Around Our Town’. We have fun learning some new French vocabulary.

  9. On Tuesday it’s off into Leeds to meet a very important person!

  10. We have time for a photo on the Civic Hall steps. Can you guess where we are?

  11. On Wednesday we head for the City Art Gallery and learn about the heritage of our city.

  12. Making our own Leeds owls… Messy … but fun!

  13. We can twist and shape the clay into our own design.

  14. Then we set off around the city centre to find some Leeds owls.

  15. Whoever heard of an owl called Jim?!!

  16. At the end of the week we link up with our friends in France and Belgium. How brilliant to be able to see into each other’s classrooms!

  17. We try out a few more activities together.

  18. Year One have a lesson about Italy… from some real Italians! Caio!

  19. Concentrating hard on making a jigsaw map of Italy.

  20. We’d like to say a big “THANK YOU!” to all our visitors for making it such an enjoyable and memorable week in school. Calverley Parkside, Summer 2013
