It is typically decorated in bright colors on a white background, frequently depicting historical and legendary scenes. • Objective: Students will be creating an original design ceramic platter in Italian Majolica style and a draft sketch assignment.
Italian Majolica Styled Project Requirements: Sketch • Student will be graded on the following: • Style: Does the student keep to the Majolica theme with design? • Degree of design difficultly: Does the student include multiple design directions, patterns, shapes, little to no open space, and over lapping design? • Neatness: Does the student erase all stray marks on paper and design is clearly visible? • Size: Does student make design at least one full standard page size?
Italian Majolica Styled Project Requirements: Platter • Student will be graded on the following: • Style: Does the student keep to the Majolica theme with design? • Degree of design difficultly: Does the student include multiple design directions, patterns, shapes, little to no open space, and over lapping design? • Neatness: Does the student glaze neatly within design lines and design is clearly visible? • Size: Does student make platter at least one foot long by six inches wide? • Student summary paragraph and participation/effort
