  3. Draw a piano keyboard • Draw a rectangle. • Add 2 ‘buck teeth’ and a line. • Add 3 ‘buck teeth and a line. • Letter the white keys: From “C” to shining “C”

  4. When we are talking about Enharmonic Equivalents… which keys are we usually talking about? ALL TOGETHER NOW !!!!!!! The BLACK KEYS Draw in your “bunny ears” on the black keys.

  5. To get to the black keys…we can either go up ½ step to it (#) or down ½ step to it (b). If we go up ½ step (#) from “C” we would get a C#. If we go down ½ step (b) from “D” we would get a Db. C# = Db C# Db

  6. If we go up ½ step (#) from “F” we would get an F#. Let’s try another one together…………… If we go down ½ step (b) from “G” we would get a Gb. F# = Gb Go ahead and fill in the rest of the ‘bunny ears’. F# Gb

  8. The rules for getting the“other name” # - If you have a sharp and want the other name… Go up 1 letter… and call it “b”. b – if you have a flat and want the other name… Go down 1 letter… and call it “#”. Ab = ___ F# = ___ G G # b

  9. THE “DANGER ZONES” There are two (2) places where we might have a problem… the ‘rules’ don’t work...do you see it? Why the problem you might ask????? There is NO BLACK KEY THERE!!!

  10. The “DANGER ZONES” If we go up ½ step from “E” we would get an F . If we go up ½ step from “B” we would get a C .

  11. The “DANGER ZONES” If we go down ½ step (b) from “F” we would get an E . If we go down ½ step (b) from “C” we would get a B .
