What is…The Buffalo International Film Festival? The Buffalo International Film Festival, Inc. was founded as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit charitable organization on January 21, 2005. BIFF is planning a major international Film Festival celebrating artistic and cultural diversity for the benefit of Western New York and the world community. The festival will include film and video competitions, screenings, educational events, and appearances by industry professionals and personalities. Festival events will be held at various venues in and around the Buffalo-Niagara area.

The Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF) follows the tradition of world-renowned festivals – festivals with names like “Sundance” and “Tribeca” and “Cannes.” What makes BIFF unique is that the festival will highlight the past and present work of individuals who were born, raised, or educated in the Western New York Region and who have contributed to world motion picture history.Western New York has a rich cultural and artistic heritage. The Buffalo International Film Festival is dedicated to the mission of recognizing the achievements of Western New Yorkers and bringing visitors from all over the world to contribute to the local economy.
