Chapter 10 Guest speaker: Pastor Dana Bratton missionary to Thailand
Mark 4:35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let's go over to the other side."
There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, (tsunami?) men fainting from fear and the
expectation of the things which are coming upon the world ; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. "Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory."Luke 21:25-27 (NASB)
"I have but one candle of life to burn, and I would rather burn it out in a land filled with darkness than in a land flooded with light" -- John Keith Falconer
"Lost people matter to God, and so they must matter to us." -- Keith Wright
"No one has the right to hear the gospel twice, while there remains someone who has not heard it once." "We talk of the Second Coming; half the world has never heard of the first." -- Oswald J. Smith
“If we were dying of the same disease and I found the cure, shouldn't I tell you? If I saw your house on fire and knew you were inside sleeping, shouldn't I try to rescue you?" -- Dana Bratton
"The gospel is only good news if it gets there in time" -- Carl F. H. Henry
"As long as there are millions destitute of the Word of God and knowledge of Jesus Christ, it will be impossible for me to devote time and energy to those who have both." -- J. L. Ewen
"The command has been to 'go,' but we have stayed -- in body, gifts, prayer and influence. He has asked us to be witnesses unto the uttermost parts of the earth ... but 99% of Christians have kept puttering around in the homeland." -- Robert Savage, Latin American Mission
"People who do not know the Lord ask why in the world we waste our lives as missionaries. They forget that they too are expending their lives ...
and when the bubble has burst, they will have nothing of eternal significance to show for the years they have wasted." -- Nate Saint, missionary martyr “
The people of Israel were ignorant of righteousness verses 1-4
1Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.
2I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.
4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them.
6But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down)
7or “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
8But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
9because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
11For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 11เพราะมีข้อพระคัมภีร์ว่าผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดที่เชื่อในพระองค์จะไม่ได้รับความอับอาย
12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.
13For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 13เพราะว่าผู้ที่ร้องออกพระนามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะรอด
14But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”
17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
18But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for “Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.”
Israel did not obey and was stubborn verses 19-21 พวกอิสราเอลไม่เชื่อฟังและดื้อรั้นข้อที่ 19-21
19But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says,“I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”
20Then Isaiah is so bold as to say,“I have been found by those who did not seek me;I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
21But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.” 21แต่ท่านได้กล่าวถึงพวกอิสราเอลว่าตลอดทั้งวันเรายื่นมือให้ชนชาติซึ่งไม่เชื่อฟังและดื้อรั้น
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, เพราะว่าทุกคนทำบาป และเสื่อมจากพระสิริของพระเจ้า
Jeremiah เยเรมีย์17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Jeremiah เยเรมีย์17:10 10“I the LORD search the heart and test the mind,to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
Romans โรม 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Ephesians เอเฟซัส 3:14-21 14For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
16that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,
21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
