ELA October 21, 2013 Warm-up: 3rd, 5th, & 6th period students: On a half sheet of paper, write your name and homeroom teacher’s name. Thank you. Take out at least 5 sheets of paper, and pen.Label each sheet of paper: Name, Date, Class Period When you get in the individual stations, you can add the topic. Opening—What are Smart Stations? • You will have 20-25 minutes in each station to complete the task. • You will rotate through 5 stations. Station 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5, and 5 to 1. Station 6 to 7, 7 to 8, 8 to 9, 9 to 10, and 10, to 6. Teacher, timer, and/or music will alert you when it is time to rotate to a new station. • Each station will have its own focus and directions. • Read all directions for each station. Keep all directions out for everyone to see. • Make sure that you have all required materials to complete the assignment. • If the directions instruct you to work with your group to complete the assignment, do your part in the group to make sure that it is completed accurately. • If the directions instruct you to work alone, then do your best alone to complete the assignment accurately. • If you have questions, whether you are working as a group or not, you are allowed to ask someone at the station for assistance. If you still have questions, please raise your hand and get assistance from a teacher. • At the end of each station, put all rules, assignment sheets, and other materials back in the folder. Clean up your area and then rotate to the next station.
Work Session • Number 1 to 10. This number is where you will begin in the Smart Stations. • Make sure you re-read the rules when you get to your 1st station. • Begin working and continue working until time is called.
