  1. (Addax nasomaculatus) By Chris McMorran The Addax

  2. - I chose this animal due to the attractive, abstract appearance of it's horns - Herbivore: Consumes only Grass and Leaves - Lives in Most parts of the Middle East and Africa, however it has been moved to parts of North America The Addax

  3. - Can convert it's body fat into water - Only releases bodily waste once a year - Females have a gestation period of 282 days - Horns can have up to 5 convolutions Interesting Facts

  4. Hunters: - They are said to be very “fun” to hunt - Meat and horns are very valuable - Serving their meat is seen as a symbol of wealth Energy: - Forced to burn up all of their scarce energy when running from potential predators (humans in motorized vehicles, humans hunting as well as animals hunting) Reasons for Endangerment

  5. With out doubt! Prevention of the extinction of the Addax has few possible yet effective possibilities. - Anti-hunting laws - Captive breeding and captivity facilities - Disallowing human travel into Addax territory. Can it's extinction be prevented???

  6. The extinction of the Addax would bring no high-concern to most of the global society. - Oxygen levels would increase - Hunters and people selling Addax would suffer financially - They are not a top predator - They are rarely consumed by lions, African hunting dogs, cheetahs and leopards Does it concern me?

  7. Thank you for Listening
