Bio • Born 1593 B.C.E. , his parents Amram and Jochebed. • Sent down a river (still a baby) by Jochebed to be saved. • Later found by Bithya, daughter of King Pharaoh. • Grew up and left Egypt by faith to Midian. (see Exodus 2:11 and Hebrews 11: 23) • Becomes one of the greatest leaders and leads the Hebrews out of Egypt’s grasp.
Moses Accomplishments • Chosen by God to lead the Hebrews out of slavery from the Egyptians. • Handed down the Ten Commandments. • Before his death, he led the Isaraelites to the edge of the Promise Land and appointed Joshua to lead his people.
Bio • The son of Issac and Rebekah, grandson of Abraham. • He was renamed Israel by God according to the Hebrew bible. • Considered to be one of the greatest patriarchs of the Old Testament.

Bio Part Dos • Had 12 sons and 1 daughter…from his two wives Leah and Rachel, along with two of their slaves Bilhah and Zilpah. • Considered to be a liar, schemer, and manipulator. • Deceived others for selfish gain. • Did not trust God to work things out.
Jacob’s Turnaround and Accomplishments • Genesis 28: 12-15 “He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the LORD, and he said: "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."
Jacob’s Turnaround • Genesis 32:28Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome."
Jacob’s Turnaround/ Accomplishments • Turning point: Relied and ask God for help more than ever. • God then touched and broken his hip. • Jacob is now a broken man, but also a new one. • His limp represents his need and dependence on God.
Jacob’s Turnaround/ Joseph • His name meaning “struggles with God.” • One of his 12 sons is Joseph, who we know grows up to be an important figure in the bible. • Genesis 32:28Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome."
Jesus Bio • Son of Mary and Joseph. • The Central Figure of Christianity. • Performed many miracles in his lifetime such as multiplying bread and fish or healing the blind.
Jesus’s Death/Ressurection • Sentenced and Crucified as ordered by Pontius Pilate, the Roman Governor at that time. • Sacrificed himself to forgive us of our sins. • Returns from the dead 3 days after his death.
