Background Information • Preventable Disease – a disease that with the proper treatment or education can be either prevented or treated with a positive outcome. • 500,000 children under the age of 5 die each year from the rotavirus and its effects. • Majority of these diseases are spread due to the lack of clean or running water.
New Approach to an Old Problem • Phase I • Research and Development • Guide researchers and leaders of effected regions • Develop new treatments or preventative methods • Funding of such research provided by foundations and World Health Organization • Empower the residents of the effected regions to join in the solution
New Approach to an Old Problem • Phase II • Land Mine Processing • Identification of major issues that may prevent delivery or treatment • Developing plans to respond to these issues to ensure treatment is delivered and that the plan is long term • Involve all areas of government and society to help in the planning process
New Approach to an Old Problem • Phase III • Continuing Education and Long Term Development • Develop programs to help regions sustain the treatment programs • Hands-On and In the Field training programs to spread the message • Respectful of the local cultures to ensure community support
Process Development • Havenwyrd Institute– the members of the institute provided a majority of the initial research and provided guidance • Confusion Fusion – these members provided additional research and collaborated to develop the presented solution and finalized the report
