HR Connections State Health Plan Dependent Eligibility Verification Applies to anyone who covers spouse or children on the State Health Plan. Who is Eligible? • A legal spouse • An unmarried child under age 26 including natural, legally adopted, foster children, children for whom the employee is a court-ordered guardian and stepchildren of the employee, • An unmarried child who is physically or mentally incapacitated, to the extent that he or she is incapable of earning a living, and such handicap developed prior to the dependent’s 26th birthday.

HR Connections Phased Retirement Program Notifications Phased Retirement Program (PRP) • Allows eligible tenured faculty to receive retirement benefits and work part-time for NC State on a three-year academic contract. • Tenured faculty who qualify will receive a letter from the Provost extending an opportunity to participate in the Phased Retirement Program.
HR Connections NCFlex Annual Enrollment October 4-29, 2010 Over-the-counter medications are no longer covered in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account No Evidence of Insurability required for enrollment into the low option Cancer Plan or Critical Illness Plan. Flexible Spending Account users will be allowed to carry over unused balances for an additional 21/2 months into the next plan year Cancer Plan is offering LifeStrive (a new wellness benefit) for those in the high & premium plans.
HR Connections Leave Administration Updates Workers’ Compensation Forms – Reminders • Make sure all Forms are submitted to EHS and Leave Administration in a timely fashion. • Supervisor must complete the Form 19 and First Report of Injury – NOT the employee. • If injury/accident does occur and the employee is injured, make sure they are provided with the Medical Authorization Form. Return To Work Notes • Employees returning from continuous leave for their own medical condition must present a return to work note prior to resuming their job duties.
HR Connections Leave Administration Updates Postdoc Leave Accruals • New Postdoc Scholars Regulation (REG 10.10.8) were issued on June 28, 2010. • Postdocs now earn 12 annual days and 12 sick days each year. • A maximum of 24 daysof annual leave can be carried over from one year to the next. • Does not convert or carry over if Postdoc subsequently accepts EPA or SPA position. • Other Provisions – FMLA, Shared Leave, Family Illness
