Implementation:Registrars and Enrolment agencies • June 08, 2010, India's largest life insurance firm LIC, had signed a memorandum of understanding with the UIDAI to become a registrar for the delivery of the UID number. - With this, the UIDAI will also have access to a database of all the policy holders of LIC. LIC has details like name, gender, sex, father and mother name of policy holders. It only has to add the biometric details to it. • The country's largest lender SBI is planning to start the enrollments on a pilot basis in more than 100 districts - SBI will collect both demographic and biometric information of the bank's more than 170 million account holders - 13,000 branches to act as enrollment centers the bank • To encourage its registrar partners, the UIDAI has decided to pay them Rs 50 per enrollment for signing up residents.

Leverage existing infrastructure • (New Delhi, February 4, 2011) Under the agreement, the printing of communication carrying UID number addressed to all residents will be undertaken at the Department of Posts' "Print to Post" facility at Kolkata General Post Office (GPO). • The facility is expected to print and dispatch about one crore UID letters up to March 31, 2011.
