September 2010. Winter is drawing to an end but there has been no rain for 3 months. The land is very dry. 0. Spring is approaching. January saw the start of the new school year where over 70 students enrolled. Some don't come because they don’t have shoes to wear.

September 2010. Winter is drawing to an end but there has been no rain for 3 months. The land is very dry. 0
January saw the start of the new school year where over 70 students enrolled. Some don't come because they don’t have shoes to wear.
The bishop arrived in the summer to carry out confirmation classes.
The school has been keen to introduce school dinners. One parent has been cooking at home and bringing it to school. There are plans in place to build a kitchen.
With some money left over from the Harvest donations from our schools last year they bought this cauldron for making school dinners.
School dinners – cabbage grown by the students. An egg from the profits of snacks sold at break time. The school is keen to increase the amount of protein children have in their meals.
The food is simple, but nourishing, consisting of maize meal and cabbage on some days and thick soup and a large hunk of bread on others. It is good to see them eating: so many of the students, particularly the boys, are permanently hungry.

A recent school trip to find some paintings on the nearby rocks.
The paintings were made by the San bushmen who inhabited the area until a few hundred years ago.
