NHS WORKFORCE DISABILITY EQUALITY STANDARD (WDES)

The Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES) in the NHS aims to address disability equality issues across various staffing areas, promoting a culture of inclusivity and accountability. It requires NHS organizations to demonstrate progress in workforce equality indicators, ultimately enhancing performance for individuals protected under the Equality Act 2010 and the Equality and Diversity Systems. The standard uses data from systems like ESR and the NHS Staff Survey to monitor staff perceptions and experiences, facilitating the delivery of Public Sector Equality Duty.
