  2. Summary of 2009 • Heart Failure and beta blockade • CKD and proteinuria • Contraception • Anxiety and depression • New diabetes HbA1c targets • COPD and a dyspnoea score

  3. Heart Failure • LVD only • Currently treated with ACEi or ARB • Additionally with beta blockade Intolerance or contraindication acceptable

  4. CKD • Annual protein: creatinine ratio

  5. Contraception • CON 1 & 2 removed • Register of women prescribed contraceptives • % on oral or patch - given advice re Long acting reversible methods • % who have takenemergency contraception - given advice re Long acting reversible methods

  6. Anxiety & Depression • Re-use of PHQ9 at 5 –12 weeks

  7. CVD – primary pevention • New diagnosis of hypertension alone – Cardiovascular risk assessment within 3/12 • Lifestyle advice given

  8. Diabetes Thresholds change for HbA1c 7 or less (40-50%) - 42% 8 or less (40-70%) - 69% 9 or less (40-90%) - 80%

  9. COPD • Inhaler technique drops out • MRC dyspnoea score instead

  10. Palliative Care • Now irrespective of age Meetings restructured recently

  11. Stroke/TIA • Now irrespective of age Meetings restructured recently

  12. Smoking • Now irrespective of age Meetings restructured recently
