Welcome to Moss Supply’s factory tour: Helping you picture the possibilities, one window at a time.
It all begins with glass. • You will find thousands of pieces of quality AFG glass ready to be made into efficient, insulated units. Glazing options include clear, Ti-36AC Low E, obscure, tinted, and bronze.
The possibilities begin with glazing options, + special sizes & shapes. • Our optimizers allow for an incredible array of shapes and sizes to be precisely cut from huge pieces of glass.
Glass is dropped on a bed of air, while the computer forms special shapes.
It is what inside that counts. • Our craftspeople at Moss take state-of-art equipment and form two grid options for your window; 7/8” flat colonial and 1” profile grids. Few window companies our size form their own grids.
It all comes together with the Best in Beauty. • The process begins with feeding the precision cut glass to be washed. • The machine then takes the clean glass and applies the DuraSeal™ glazing system for long life.
As the glass unit progresses, it is checked for quality by a Moss professional, who in turn applies the proper grid pattern. • The two pieces of glass are made one.
The newly sealed unit is then carried through a heating process, creating a hermetic seal for long and maintenance-free life. • The unit is inspected once again and stickers applied.
The window begins to take shape • Quality conscious Moss employees use computer driven saws to cut virgin vinyl for parts of the sash and master frame.
Each part is precision milled for fit and finish. • Each part is precision milled to meet the exacting specifications for long-life and energy efficiency.
Fusion welded for added strength. • The milled and measured parts of each sash and key elements of the master frame are fusion welded for added strength.
Cleaning Up Our Act • The operating sash is placed in a sophisticated device that cleans the welds and routes for various operating parts of the sash. • The master frame is cleaned, ready for the next step.
Moss adds versatility with every window. • By applying the sill of each window with zinc coated screws, Moss gives the builder the option to change out that part if damaged during installation.
Getting the Whole Act Together • The operating sash is assembled using wet glazed technology, providing a clean sight line from the inside of the home. • Our production pros take care making sure each component is properly fitted.
Top Sash Is Installed • The top sash is then inserted into the master frame using dual-durometer technology. This convenience feature allows for easy glass replacement or drywall pass through.
One Last Quality Check. • The operating sash is then placed into the master frame. Our quality conscious production employees give the window one last check before sending to shipping.
Technology is evident even in the simple tasks at Moss. • The simplest part of a window is the screen. Moss takes the extra step by using precision devices assuring even the screen is up to our demanding standards.
More possibilities. . . • Whether you would like to have wood extension jambs factory applied, or perhaps a special shape to round off your opening, Moss can do it for you.
Do we have a window for you. . .in stock? • Unlike most of our competitors, Moss tries to anticipate the needs of our customers and carries thousands of windows in stock in a variety of sizes for timely deliveries.
Out the door to you new home. • Each order is carefully checked as it is expedited for shipment. • Each window is then loaded with care and pride, as it gets ready to head out to your new home.
