Time Era • Date of birth 1821 • Date of death 1910 • Elizabeth Blackwell was a little girl when women couldn’t do much all they could do was cook, sew, and teach.
Childhood Elizabeth lived in England when she was little. When she was 11 her family and her moved to America. Elizabeth’s dad got the best teachers for her. She loved school.
Education • Elizabeth liked most classes in school ,but she hated classes about bodies it made her sick. • Elizabeth went to school in New York, but she lived in New Jersey.
Adulthood • Elizabeth wanted to make a change but she didn’t know what to do. • Her friend Mary was sick she said she might feel less sick if she had a women doctor. • That gave Elizabeth the idea to become a women doctor. • Then she thought about how bodies made her sick she didn’t know what to do.
Interests • She taught to get money • She enjoyed reading • She liked taking walks • Elizabeth really liked playing with her 8 brothers and sisters.
Change Elizabeth Blackwell was the 1st official women doctor . She gave women the right to do other things then cook , teach , and sew . She showed all women to keep on trying and not to give up 29 medical schools rejected her but she kept on trying.
Who was effected? • All women have been changed by Elizabeth Blackwell.
How did she get interested? • Her friend was sick and she said she would feel better if she had a women doctor. That gave her the idea to be a women doctor.
