Indicators of Abuse or Neglect Possible abuse include: • Burns, bruises, lacerations • Torn, stained, or bloody underclothing • Difficulty walking or sitting • Agitation, anxiety, fear, anger • Withdrawn, confused, depressed Possible neglect include: • Pressure sores • Dehydration, malnutrition • Poor hygiene, change in appetite
DHS 83.34(5) LIMITATIONS. (a) No CBRF licensee, administrator or employee may do any of the following: 1. Sell to or purchase from a resident or prospective resident, real or personal property. 2. Accept or borrow money from a resident or prospective resident. 3. Be appointed as power of attorney for any resident unless related to the resident by blood or adoption. 4. Accept gifts from a resident except for gifts of nominal value. (b) No CBRF, nor any employee on behalf of the CBRF, may accept donations from any resident, except those made by a competent resident or made with the knowledge of the resident's legal representative acting within the scope of their authority and only for the benefit of the CBRF. No employee may accept personal gifts, including monetary gifts, from a resident.
Inspiration Ministries Policy • It is the policy of Inspiration Ministries that all residents be treated with respect and dignity. Residents have the right to be free from Abuse, Neglect or Misappropriation of Property from staff members, contractors and volunteers. Retaliation will not be tolerated
Procedure: • Internal Reporting: Any incident of potential misconduct should be immediately reported to the RN on Call, the Social Services Coordinator, or the Administrator • Supervisor will be notified and staff member will immediately be placed on paid administrative leave until investigation is complete • Administrator, RN and/or Social Services Coordinator will conduct an internal investigation. A signed written statement may be required by staff person. • If determined necessary, a caregiver misconduct report will be filed with the Division of Quality Assurance and the staff person will be notified of such report
