Summary • Most states feeling a bit more comfortable about their consortium’s ability to deliver a summative test on time • Not sure about the other products in development • Not sure all the “bells and whistles” will be there • At the same time, contingency planning is picking up • Typical plan is to keep current assessment while adding CCSS items • Technology readiness is the number one concern • Funding, bandwidth, devices are biggest concerns • Three states have submitted funding requests to legislatures • Mixed interest in AI scoring; states realize its importance to costs www.assessmentgroup.org

Summary (cont.) • Cost is the second biggest issue mentioned • Some states planning on reducing non-math/ELA costs in order to afford consortia assessments • Some states have asked for additional funding for either the consortia or other assessments • A handful of states have recovered past funding cuts but, in general, funding is still below 2007 levels • Sustainability and consortia governance models are of great interest • SBAC has now announced their approach • PARCC working with McKinsey on governance models www.assessmentgroup.org
