2. The Main Character The main character’s name is Patience Goodspeed, who is basically the opposite of her name. She usually gets into trouble. The bad thing is that her coo - coo head neighbor ,Fanny Starbuck, is trying to marry Patience’s dad. Then her dad tells her that she is going to boarding school for three months, while her dad and her beloved crew at sea hunting for whales, for their oil.

3. The author I like the author because she gives lots of details and because she doesn’t have extra words like “he listened to the noise through his ears”.The reason why I like that is because if you add 3 extra words to each page it would be a very long and boring book. One more reason I like the author is because she put some mysterious parts, some adventures, and some dramatic parts.

4. Favorite character I think my favorite character has to be Thaddeus’s dog Friday because at some points he cracks me up. He is a very funny dog. One reason I liked the story was that Thaddeus found Friday on Thaddeus’s birthday and thought he was a birthday present and decided to keep him. That means one more stray dog found a home. To me I felt relief because Thaddeus could keep him.
