All staff • Prevention responsibilities • Be aware that the escape routes should be free from flammable material and not to place such material in the escape routes. Notification of deviations must be made without delay to the fire safety manager or the fire safety coordinator. • Basic Principle: • RESCUE – persons in immediate danger. Remember in particular to help people who are disabled. • ALERT – others in the building during the evacuation as you pass rooms on the way out. • ALARM – call (0)112. …Extinguish • Use the hand-held extinguishers, the indoor fire hydrant, to attempt to extinguish the fire if this does appear to be dangerous for your own safety. • FOAM EXTINGUISHERS – for fire in wood, paper, textile and buildings, and, if there is no carbon dioxide fire extinguisher at hand, fire in elecic devices. • CARBON DIOXIDE EXTNGUISHERS – for fire in electronic devices, also works on wood, paper etc. • WATER HOSES – in the staircases. Not to be used on electric devices. • Close the door of the room in which the fire has broken out to stop the fire from spreading.
Fire and evacuation alarm • Both Juridicum and Tryckeriet has automatic fire and evacuation alarms. In the event of an evacuation alarm the bells are reinforced by the receptionist reading out an evacuation message in Swedish and English (during faculty opening hours). • In both buildings the fire alarm is connected to the fire brigade. The fire brigade can be expected within 10 minutes.
Additional information • Study on occasion the evacuation plans that are available in all rooms. • Note the location of the nearest fire extinguisher from your office. • Remember that there are always at least two ways out of the building from the location you are in.
