Purpose of the PDTs Collaborative Planning Coordination of Professional Development Opportunities Enhance Teacher Quality Improve Student Achievement
Composition of the PDTs • Reading Leader • Assistant Principal/APC Secondary Schools • Designated Union Building Steward • Possible Instructional Personnel - Language Arts/Reading Leader/Coach - Mathematics Leader/Coach -Grade Level Chair (applicable to Elem.) -Department Chair for Core Subjects
Role & Responsibilities of the PDT Pair new teacher with “transition teacher” Collaborate with staff to develop PDP that reflects student data and teacher needs Develop and submit PDP Participate in Action Research Training & Conduct action research Agree to participate as a team member through 2005-06 school year Announce training opportunities and registration procedures
Incentives • Up to $2250 stipend per team - $100 stipend for attending one-day Action Research training - $150 stipend upon completion of action research project • Up to 30 Master Plan Points may be earned - 6 Master Plan Points for participating on PDT - 6 Master Plan Points for attending the in-service training - Up to 18 Master Plan Points for conducting the action research (log will be provided) and must be submitted for credit to be awarded
