  10. Leonardo da Vinci PARTNERSHIPS Information and Career Guidance Fair Date: 7th of November 2013 Place: Stredná odborná škola rozvoja vidieka, nám. sv. Štefana 1533/3 Dunajská Streda, Slovakia The main aim of this event was to present secondary schools and its subjects and help pupils of primary schools and its parents to choose the best profession in the future.

Leonardo da Vinci PARTNERSHIPS Regional meeting actors of labour market 19.02.2014 35 participants: educational consultants in primary schools, representatives from OLSAF DS The main aim of the meeting wasto present the regional results of the research, to increase the active cooperation among educationalinstitutions and thelabour office.

Leonardo da Vinci PARTNERSHIPS Open day Date: 28.01.2014 Participants: 2 teachers and 10 students from vocational school (Stredná odborná škola s vyučovacím jazykom maďarským, Gyulu Szabóa 21, Dunajská Streda) Place: DUNATEX a. s., Dunajská Streda The main aim of the activity was to show the „real“ company for students – education and world of work.

Are you satisfied with the qualifications and skills of the target group you employ? “Most of the graduates don´t have work experiences in the “live” company, some of them haven´t even visited a manufacturing company. Our company spends considerable resources to teach new employees – to encourage adaptation.”  “High level of theoretical knowledge, but practice is missing.“ This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.

  20. “Professional supervision, assessment, tutoring.” • „Internal and external tutoring in Slovakia and in abroad”. • „Special training programs in Germany (Kolín) – parent company - reimbursement of costs of language courses.” • „Regular participation in training programs, guidance and supervision from experienced colleagues.“ • „Communication skills training courses, language courses.”   This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.

  25. „Increase in number of graduates choosing to study on economic secondary schools or universities. Unfortunately vocational schools disappear. They lost their attractiveness despite the fact that there is a high need from the side of Slovak labour market.” • „There are too many graduates from economic schools.” • „It would be good to connect manufacturing companies with educational institutions.“ • „Young people have theoretical knowledge, but they are not able to use it in real life.“ This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.

  27. „The theory is easy to learn at schools, but the practical part only in a working environment (in the company). • „Reducing the number of so called universities and put more emphasis on the functioning of vocational schools.“ •  „Practical experience strengthen self-confidence and you receive problem solving skills. “ • „Practical part of the work shows person´s ability to identify with the profession. It shows, if someone is capable for the profession.” • „ This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.
