  1. Welcome to Ms. Finley’s & Mrs. Bielen’sPre-Algebra Class

  2. About Ms. Finley: Ms. Finley graduated from Muhlenberg College with a B.S. in Mathematics along with Elementary and K-12 Mathematics certification. She taught 5th, 6th, and 7th grade Math at Bernardsville Middle School for 2 years. Ms. Finley is currently teaching 7th and 8th grade Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry at H.B.W. and is working towards her masters in Mathematics Education from Montclair State University.

  3. About Mrs. Bielen: Mrs. Bielen holds dual certification in General Education (PreK-8) and Special Education (K-12). She graduated from Marist College, in Poughkeepsie, New York, with both a BA in Psychology/Special Education and MA in Educational Psychology. Mrs. Bielen is very excited to be a resource and in-class support teacher at H.B.W. This year she will be teaching a language arts class, as well as 7th and 8th grade math. She enjoys working cooperatively with other teachers, in an effort to optimize learning for all students.

  4. Content: Solving Equations & Inequalities Exponents & Real Numbers Data Analysis Probability Ratio, Proportions, and Percent Polygons & Transformations Measurement, Area, and Volume Linear Equations & Graphs Multi-Step Equations & Inequalities

  5. Grading Policy: Grades consist of: - Tests - Quizzes/Projects/Graded Homework and/or Classwork - Homework: only 10% of the marking period grade - Benchmarks (1 each marking period) Assignments will be posted on Genesis and all graded work will be recorded and returned as quickly as possible.

  6. Extra Help: Extra help is available to any student that requests it. Our doors are always open, so if your child has any questions please encourage them to see us as soon as possible! Arrangements can be made for help before schooland after school. Students coming in for extra help should always have questions ready, with the work they have tried and their class notes.
