We think the relative level of crime is low when compared with neighbouring villages
But the responses do reflect genuine concern
Levels of vandalism are perceived to have dropped in the last six months
These concerns have been relayed to the Police and a public meeting is to be held on the 21st November in the Village Hall

12. Parking Problems There were 173 respondents to this subject
The majority cited lack of space in the village centre - 108 (62%)
19 (11%) also commented on lack of space outside the Village Hall
It is unlikely that either the space or resources could ever be found to address the problem at these locations
Planners however, need to made aware that any further development in the immediate vicinity does not make the situation worse
Further development elsewhere in the village must include adequate facilities for parking both for residents and for visitors to prevent the problem spreading
It is worth noting that visitors are most likely to be using cars owing to the village’s location and relatively poor public transport links

No village facilities for plastics and cardboard
This issue has been raised with RBC
There are facilities in Rugby
Also, a new recycling facility is being built in Rugby

Q.16. Footpaths (Public rights of way) Are there any public rights of way you have an issue with?
A. Overgrown hedge rows along the bridle path from Pailton Club to Monks Kirby
The growth was cut put back and weed killer applied
The path between Yews farm and the council houses on Rugby road was of particular concern
Reported by the Parish Council to WCC
Other issues relate to poor signage, dog fouling, difficult styles/gates and antisocial ostriches

There was no specific question on traffic calming, but concerns were raised in the written comments
Since the survey was made improvements have been made to the scheme
There will be a follow-up impact survey within the next 12 months

Issues were raised regarding
poor delivery of local newspapers,
little information regarding village and church activities,
planning applications
This information has been passed on to the relevant groups

The PO & Shop is now delivering newspapers
Village Hall information, rentals, events etc. put in Round the Revel and www.pailton.org.uk
Parish Council Agendas and Minutes on the Village notice board and www.pailton.org.uk

25. Public Transport Problems There were 193 respondents on this issue
Unsurprisingly 102 or 53% did not use buses as they were car owners
A further 50 or 26% found the service provision to be inconvenient in one way or another
Timing, routing, onward connection etc.

Only 2% of respondents use the bus service, 5% use trains
Q.22. How do you travel to school or college?
26% of respondents use buses, 3% use trains
Q.23. Do you use any of the buses that serve the parish? And if so, what for?
68% never uses buses
10% use them for shopping
8% use them for social activities
Many disabled parishioners have difficulty accessing the buses

The findings of this survey will be passed on
to the current operator, De Courcey’s and
to the Transport Operations Department of Warwickshire County Council
they may prove useful in initiating improvements to the service
