  3. What is Emotional Intelligence? Emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to understand and manage your emotions of yourself as an individual. It also means that you can recognize and influence the emotions of those around you. The most important thing to be known is that this was the term coined in 1990 by researchers John Mayer and Peter Salovey. But the popularity of this word came after psychologist Daniel Goleman.

  4. Components of Emotional Intelligence • Self-Awareness: This is something that is considered to be the core of everything. Self-awareness describes your ability to not only understand your strengths and weaknesses. • Self-Management: All the leaders who are lacking self-management tend to react and have a harder time keeping their impulses in check. • Social Awareness: Social awareness is considered to be the ability for recognizing the emotions of others and the dynamics in play within your organization. • Relationship Management: Some of the people there avoid conflict, but it is very important to properly address issues as they arise. So, to keep your team happy and in a good state of mind, you need to learn relationship management.
