Article One: Legislative: House of Representatives • Qualifications- • Age: 25 years of age. • Residency: must live in the state where they are elected. • Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen for 7 years. B. Elections- • Held every two years. C. Responsibilities- • Impose and collect taxes and duties. • Borrow money. • Regulate commerce with foreign nations and among the states. • Coin money. • Establish post officer. • Declare war. • Raise and support an army and navy.
Senate A. Qualifications • Age: 30 years of age. • Residency: Must live in the state which elected. • Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen for 9 years. • Elections • Every 6 years. • Responsibilities • Choose officers. • Try all impeachments. • When the president of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside.
Article Two: Executive Branch: President • Qualifications: • Age: 35 years of age. • Residency: Must live in the United States for 14 years. • Citizenship: Must be a natural born citizen. • Elections: • Every 4 years. • Responsibilities: • Carry out and enforce laws made by congress. • Make treaties with foreign nations. • Appoint certain important government officials. • Act as commander-in-chief of the armed forces. • Veto laws passed by congress.
Supreme Courts • Length of tenure: • Life or until they retire. • Responsibilities: • Has original jurisdiction in cases involving a state government. • In all other cases they have appellate jurisdiction.
