  3. Howard Gardener • Studied at Harvard • Joined Project Zero in 1966 • Established the project on Human Potential • 1983 published Frames of Mind Back

Linguistic Intelligence • Understanding of spoken and written language, the ability to learn languages, and the capability to use language to achieve certain goals • The ability to effectively use language to express oneself rhetorically or poetically • Language as a way to retain information • Those having high linguistic intelligence include: • Writers • Poets • Lawyers • Speakers Back

  5. Musical Intelligence • Proficiency in the performance, composition, and appreciation of musical patterns • Ability to identify and compose musical pitches, tones, and rhythms • Musical intelligence is very similar structurally to linguistic intelligence Back

  6. Logical/Mathematical Intelligence • Capacity to analyze problems logically • Carry out mathematical operations • Investigates issues scientifically • Detect Patterns • Reason deductively Back

  7. Spatial Intelligence • Recognize and use the patterns of wide space and more confined areas • Visualizes and mentally manipulates objects • Careers: artists, engineers, architects Back

  8. Bodily-Kinesthetic • Using one’s whole body or parts of the body to solve problems • Ability to use mental abilities to coordinate bodily movements • Prefer activities that utilize movement • Careers: athletes, dancers, comedians, builders, artisans Back
