2. Harrogate and Rural District CCG HaRD is the emerging CCG for the residents of the Harrogate and Rural District. 

3. HaRD CCG - facts • Represent 19 member GP practices • Align with the local authority boundary of Harrogate Borough Council • Serve a resident population of around 160,000 • Our main service providers are Harrogate and Rural District Foundation Trust (for hospital and community services) and Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (for mental health). • We are developing our longer term commissioning strategy and we have agreed our vision and values that will form the basis of an organisation with a culture of transparency and inclusivity

Share the key challenges we face collectively as a local health system • Financial challenges - working in partnership across the local system is solution to sustainable services • Demographics – significant impact on resources – whole system needs to respond in terms of a different type of provision focussed in the community and not in hospital and holistically responsive to all needs not health or social care in isolation – true integration • Complex change process

Key aims up to April 2013 • Develop a strong CCG working with the member practices and Governing Body • Build up relationships with the local population through engagement events, our PPE forum, relationships with LA, Borough Council; Voluntary and community sector; LINk/Heathwatch • Push forward on the development of integrated care teams across the whole district
