Mandated “Programs” The question was raised to identify State or Federally mandated programs or departments. This issue was a major focus during the Board of Supervisors 2012 budget process in the fall of 2011. There is no clear way to answer this. Mandates are present in many Departments such as the Board of Health, Clerk’s Office and Social Services. The difficulty is that no department is completely under the influence of mandates.
Department Head Survey • 14 of the 21 Department Heads responded to a survey that asked questions about existing County Government functions, County Supervisors, the Committee system and general questions about a County Administrator. • The answers summarized, categorized and some basic recommendations were made in a final report/summary.
