  1. INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM IN BUSINESS, ACCOUNTING AND ECONOMICS

  2. FACULTY OF ECONOMICS UGM • The Faculty was established in 1955, and is one of the oldest faculties of economics in Indonesia. • All of the departments are accredited and ranked ‘A' by the Board of National Accreditation. • The Faculty offers various programs for prospective students in undergraduate and graduate (Master, Master of Science, and Doctorate) level. • The Faculty has about 5,500 students, and 50% of them are graduate students (Master and Doctorate).

  3. FACULTY OF ECONOMICS UGM • The Faculty has 200 lecturers and faculty members. Ninety percent of the lecturers hold Master and Doctorate degrees. • The Faculty has great experiences in managing international classes at undergraduate level and in managing international program at Master degree program. • The Faculty has extended network with industries and world wide collaboration with respected international universities.

FACILITIES • EBSCO & PROQUEST online journals. • Library with huge collection of resources and over 1,800 journals in databases. • English Language Support Center. • Fast and free wireless internet access for students (Bandwidth: 640 Kbps). • Each class-room is provided with Air Conditioner (AC), Computer Unit, good audio and video equipments including LCD projector. • Student dormitories, sport, and health center.   5. INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM • The program offers 4 major areas of interest: Accounting, Business (includes Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Finance, Marketing, Information System and Operation), Business Economics and Economics. • The program is to develop and to provide internationally competitive graduates in international labor market and industry. • The program requires 144 credits of (core and elective) courses including fieldwork, and internship or thesis. • The standard duration of the program is 7 semesters (3.5 years).

  6. INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM • The fieldwork is a program involving students in a real work setting for a certain period equivalent to a total of 300 hours. • Internship provides students with more opportunities to have senses of what it's like to work in a company or other institutions. • The thesis facilitates students to synthesize and to comprehend knowledge in a particular field of interest. • Students may take the internship program as the basis for their thesis. • Students have options to take part of the courses in the Faculty overseas partner universities.

  7. LEARNING PROCESS • Students centered and effectively supervised (by full time professors and lecturers) learning. • Optimal combination of independent, professor supervised, class room, field works, theoretical, professional and practical knowledge, individual and group based learning approaches. • Many alternative areas to select according to students interest and market.

  8. REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION • Senior high school (SMU) graduates with good academic records. • The Faculty accepts international assessment system of SMU education (in addition to National SMU education system). • English language proficiency, as indicated by TOEFL score of at least 500, or IELTS no less than 6. Students whose score is below the minimum requirement may be considered for admission based on probationary condition. Applicants may use formal test scores from ETS.

  9. REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION • Good academic capability, as indicated by score of SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). The SAT is a three-hour test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning skills. • Non refundable application fee is Rp1.000.000,-. The fee includes SAT and TOEFL test. • Two recent passport size photographs.

  10. TUITION FEES & LIVING EXPENSES • Tuition Fee is (paid regularly each Semester) Rp17.000.000,00. • Books and course materials costs about Rp2.500.000,00 per semester. • Living expenses, including meals, room and board, varies depending on location and the standard of living. A moderate standard of living costs about Rp1.000.000,00 monthly. Universitas Gadjah Mada provides very limited spaces of student dormitory. • Public transportation is available in city and campus area.

  11. INDUSTRY NETWORK AND ON CAMPUS RECRUITMENT • The Faculty has extended industry network involving national and multinational corporations. The companies involve in educational processes and provide on campus enrollment. • Some of the companies are: Bank Mandiri, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PT Jakarta Stock Exchange, AT Kearney, Pertamina, PT. H.M. Sampoerna, Sampoerna Foundation, PT PLN, PT Unilever Indonesia, PT IBM Indonesia, KPMG, Earnst and Young, Bank Indonesia, etc.

  12. RESEARCH • The Faculty has research and educational laboratory for facilitating lecturers and students in doing research and interacting with industries: • Accounting Research and Development (PPA); • Management Research and Development (PPM); • Economic Research and Development (PPE); and • Indonesian Securities Market Database.

  13. PUBLICATION • The Faculty plays important roles in publication of accredited academic journals: • Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis Indonesia (JEBI), as the publisher. • Jurnal Riset Akuntansi Indonesia (JRAI). • Gadjah Mada International Journal of Business. • The Faculty also has a publishing company to facilitate the lecturers to actively write books and course materials.

  14. STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS • The Faculty facilitates students with numerous social activities and organizations such as that in journalism, religious and congregation, music and sports clubs. • Students may also have active roles in major discipline related organizations such as Ikatan Keluarga Mahasiswa Manajemen (http://ikamma.fe.ugm.ac.id/); Ikatan Mahasiswa Akuntansi Gadjah Mada (http://www.akuntansi-ugm.com/); and Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Ekonomi & Studi Pembangunan.

  15. INTERNATIONAL NETWORK • The Faculty has extensive collaboration with overseas universities and networks such as NIBES(The Network of International Business and Economic School) and AGBEP (ASEAN Graduate Business/Economic Programs). • The international collaboration has programs for students and faculties exchanges. • The students may also take parts of the studies in overseas partner universities.
