Tracker 1 Cosmic Ray Data. Nothing new on the hardware side.
E N D
Tracker 1 Cosmic Ray Data • Nothing new on the hardware side. • Hideyuki has generated new decoding files to correctly describe the mapping for each of the 3 states that we have taken data in with tracker 1 in R8 (original, moved waveguides at VLPC end and then swapped waveguides at patch panel end). • I have now put these into G4MICE (with a corresponding class VlpcCableOsaka2) in order to confirm his analysis of the data. • We will need to modify the official decoding files to reflect this – software workshop next week, hopefully... 3 Sets of Data • Original – 17675 triggers analysed • First swap – 5920 triggers analysed • Second swap – 4012 triggers analysed. • All plots from original set due to greater statistics. • Data from the 2nd and 3rd sets confirms the results found in the 1st. M.Ellis - Tracker PC - 9th December 2008

Point Efficiency • Station 1: 99.8 +/- 0.1 % • Station 2: 99.1 +/- 0.1 % • Station 3: 98.4 +/- 0.2 % • Station 4: 99.9 +/- 0.1 % • Station 5: 98.7 +/- 0.2 % • Predicted track finding efficiency for 4 or 5 point tracks is 99.94 % M.Ellis - Tracker PC - 9th December 2008
Next Steps • Prepare Imperial format decoding files. • Prepare for tracker 2’s arrival. • If anyone wants to do more analysis on the cosmic ray data using G4MICE let me know. • The decoding, geometry and calibration files and analysis application are all in G4MICE ready to be used...
