  3. Ren Mai • Midline channel (not bilateral) • “Curious” or “Extraordinary” meridian, • (not a “principle meridian”)

  4. Curious or Extraordinary Meridians Conception Vessel “Ren MAI” or “Ren Mo” • 24 points: • Ren Mai 1: at pelvic floor • Ren Mai 8: at umbilicus DO NOT NEEDLE! (can warm with moxa) • Ren Mai 24: on chin

  5. Curious or Extraordinary Meridians Conception Vessel “Ren MAI” or “Ren Mo” • Ren Mai 1: between the anus and labia or scrotum Ren Mai 2: at the midline on the superior border of the pubic symphysis

  6. Curious or Extraordinary Meridians Conception Vessel “Ren MAI” or “Ren Mo” • Ren Mai 3, 4, 5: • Mu points for Bl, SI, SJ • Use cun stick to measure • 1, 2, 3 cuns above symphysis, respectively • Ren Mai: at umbilicus: • 5 cuns above pubic symphysis

  7. Curious or Extraordinary Meridians Conception Vessel “Ren MAI” or “Ren Mo” • Ren Mai 12: • half way between • Ren8 and Ren16; • Mu for the stomach • Ren Mai 14: half way between • Ren16 and Ren 12; • Mu for the heart • Ren Mai 16: • at xiphisternal junction

  8. Curious or Extraordinary Meridians Conception Vessel “Ren MAI” or “Ren Mo” • RenMai 17: • on midline, • level with 4th ICS, • “functional point” • Mu for the pericardium • Ren Mai 22: • middle of suprasternal fossa • Ren Mai 24: • middle of mentolabialgrove on chin

Curious or Extraordinary Meridians Conception Vessel “Ren MAI” or “Ren Mo” • 24 points on anterior midline: • Starting at pelvic floor • And terminating • On chin at mental groove • 6 mu points: • CV 3: bladder • CV4: small intestine • CV4: san jiao (triple heater) • CV12: stomach • CV14: heart • CV17: pericardium (master of the heart)
