A combination of biomarkers to identify senescent cells • Senescence associated Beta Galactosidase activity (SA-bgal) is increased during replicative aging of cells and other conditions. • Nucleoli number can accurately distinguish between young and old cells • Using a combination of these markers, we can identify senescent cells in culture and (hopefully) tissue.
