EPS metering design proposal approval, mapping, and cutover procedure has been changed in recent past due to upcoming Nodal market implementation. Overview: • When TDSP submits a new/revised design proposal, supervisor of Meter Engineering department would review and approve the design proposal. • If the approved design proposal is for generation facilities the associated EPS meters needs to be modeled in ERCOT Network Model Management System (NMMS). Meter Working Group
ERCOT will send GENMAP package which contains information on mapping of EPS meter(s) to unit(s), resource node, Resource ID (RID) to Resource Entity (RE). • Resource Entity (RE) is required to review and signoff the verification form. • Once ERCOT receives RE sign off, proposed cutover date for generation sites will be send to TDSP. Meter Working Group
Following are the changes from TDSP point of view • GENMAP is primarily for RE but there are some implications to TDSP • The requirement to submit design proposal 45 days in advance is critical - to provide ERCOT enough time to complete the modeling and mapping process. • Meter CT location and its connected devices (such as brakers and disconnect switches) are essential in modeling and we advice to send a detailed one-line drawing as part of design proposal. • Proposed cutover date for generation sites will be provided by Meter Engineering department to TDSP. • TDSP needs to confirm the cutover date with Meter Engineering department.
