  2. Biogeochemical Cycles • Remember the law of conservation of matter… Matter cannot be created or destroyed – therefore, the CYCLING of water, carbon, phosphorous, nitrogen and sulfur only makes sense, right? • Note that these elements cycle through ABIOTIC and BIOTIC portions of ecosystems!
