  3. Nouns ending in -ss, -sh, -ch, -x get -es two watches a box a watch three boxes a glass two glasses

  4. Nouns ending in –y preceded by a consonant change –y into -ies a cherry cherries strawberries a strawberry

  5. Nouns ending in -se a house two houses two oranges an orange

  6. Some nouns ending in –f or –fe change -f(e) ito -ves three knives a knife two wolves a wolf

  7. a man – men a woman - women a foot - feet a tooth - teeth a goose - geese a mouse - mice a child - children a sheep - sheep a fish - fish Some plurals are irregular!

  8. Some nouns are alwaysplural • Clothes • Jeans • Trousers • People • Shorts
