The Asia Pacific Accountability Partnership Goal: Improve develop effectiveness in the Asia Pacific region. Purpose: Implement Istanbul principles No 5 “ enforce CSO accountability and transparency on a regional level.
Objectives: • create and maintain a network for accountability knowledge sharing practice s and schemes • Share good practice • increase support and encouragement for peer capacity building • Act together to mobilize resources to fund local accountability schemes
Encourage other countries in dialogue and strategic linking • Raise awareness andrecognition amongst donors government and private sector of benefit of CSO accountability schemes • Agree /share monitoring and evaluation of schemes
Strategies/Activities • Map the existing tools/resources use by national accountability schemes • Establish contact point in each country • Nominate CCC as co-ordinating body to establish communication methods and timeframe • Mobilize financial resources to support the partnership • Annual funded conference

How to Strengthen the National Work to contribute to the regional CSOs movement ?
National to Region • Using our current strengths (code, voluntary certification system) as a model for other country • On going strengthening existing coalitions and networks at the country level • Identify key representatives in order to join regional engagement
National to Region - cont. • Internalize the New Global Partnership into country context • On going capacity building of NGOs, especially small NGOs and grassroots community. • Recognition of local government and development partners on CSO efforts and initiatives. • Involve private sector
Region to National • Develop a clear ToR including a concrete structure, key focuses, and strategies for on going sharing and learning as a region. Meet every 6 months • Form with the Southeast Asia countries with the support of Australia, South Korea, USA, Pakistan, India, and South Africa. • Common principles/guidelines where individual county can learn and adapt based on its own context • Provide opportunities to Certified NGOs of different countries to learn from each others regularly (annually) • Monitoring framework which can be applied by CSOs
Region to National - cont- • Role as a supporter to local efforts for their own development effectiveness (e.g regional accreditation) • To mobilize resources including technical, financial resources and in kind • Look at the issues of disenabling environment
