What we learned on our trip to the mall… • How to use our fanny packs. • How to use our canes safely. • How to follow directions. • How to walk with a Human Guide. • How to get in and out of a van. • How to stay safe in a parking lot. • How to choose a safe time to cross a driveway. • What kind of stores you might find in a mall.

  3. What we learned on our trip to the mall… • How to get customer service. • How to buy something. • How to take turns. • How to go up an escalator. • What the difference is between strangers and helpers. • And last but not least, that learning in the community is fun!

  4. We have our fanny packs and canes. Let’s get in the van and go to the mall!

  5. Time to go up the escalator. Hold on tight and use your cane!

  6. Everyone goes up the escalator with a helper.

  7. Some stores at the mall sell food!

  8. We love hanging out together at the mall.

  9. Some stores sell furniture. This chair rubs your back. How silly!

  10. We went to the dollar store. You can’t buy furniture or cookies here--we got toys instead. Hey, look at what I bought!

  11. Time to go back to class. That was fun! Let’s do it again soon!
