A voluntary sector initiative that has produced “An Interactive Brain Injury Pathway”, an electronic guide to services in an area, based on the rehabilitation pathway and rehab codes published by the Eastern Head Injury Group. (Pickard, Seely et al - Journal of the Royal Society of MEDICINE Aug 2004) Offering the ABI Forum network a project that: Maps Services that exist Identifies and reports on gaps & issues Provides a local/national Interactive, Person Centred Directory of Services for Professionals, Clinicians, Family and Patients
Project Aims • BrainNav.info is and will remain a Not For Profit Enterprise • There will be no charge to any service for appearing on BrainNav.info • There will be no charge to ABI Forums for hosting their service mapping information BrainNav.info • Where no ABIF exists or where an ABIF has no mapping information the project steering group will seek to find a means of supporting the mapping to take place. This will not exclude the possibility of sponsorship for local mapping projects being acknowledged on the website. • The sponsorship of IT and Web design elements by Thompsons will not prohibit crediting of other firms of personal injury lawyers who have assisted in mapping projects. Links to existing Legal Directories will be provided by the BrainNav.info site
Project Aims • BrainNav.info will provide support and guidance to regional ABIFs in order to assist them in mapping and uploading data to the website. • The maintenance of an area’s information will be the responsibility of the participating ABI Forum. Thompsons will provide training for a nominated pathway coordinator from each ABIF. • Where no ABIF exists or where an ABIF has no mapping information the project group will seek to find a means of supporting the mapping to take place. This will not exclude the possibility of sponsorship for local mapping projects being acknowledged on the website.
