Technology for Manufacturing 2008 Objective: Active engagement and representation of NDIA Manufacturing Division in collaborative venues with the goal to significantly contribute towards addressing specific manufacturing technology needs 2008 Deliverables: • Actively engage with other NDIA Divisions (e.g. Systems Engineering, Science & Engineering Technology, etc.) to insert mfg interests in their prioritiesNew joint committee with SED; Mfg had session at annual S&ET conference in April in Charleston • Secure active NDIA Manufacturing Division technology representation in government discussions/deliberations, other forums, and working groupsMembers supplied MS&T and IBIF tech white papers; Members participate in JDMTP MRL workshops, strategic planning kickoff, …
Technology for Manufacturing 2008 Deliverables: • Identify specific technology interest and create ad hoc committee with industry, university and government participation to champion needsDid not establish any ad hoc committees because survey did not result in significant feedback and specific interest (may not be core function of committee?) • Identify projects funded through government and by industry that university and/or industry can collaborate on togetherIBIF and MS&T BAA topics forwarded to all members (as well as DARPA Disruptive Mfg interests) • Provide specific manufacturing technology issues for the 2009 NDIA Top Issues (due around June 2008)Final version included inputs and edits – specifically section 1 Mfg Technology.
