2. The Impact of Resource Avaliability on the Automobile Industry Resources important to the industry: • Work/ labor force (Without labor, cars could not be produced.) • Copper (natural resource, used to manufacture cars.) • Iron (natural resource, used in many cars to make them strong.) • Vanadium steel( Used only in French luxury cars and the model t, much lighter and stronger than most metals)\ • Normal steel (used in most cars at that time and was required to manufacture the car.) Thanks to the mass producing of steel and other resources at that time that were needed to build cars, the rise of the industry began. Mostly steel, iron, and copper were massprodused. These were the resources that were mostly used in the car. Many resources were massprodused, but these were the most. Mass producing most of the resources did have a big effect on the environment. Many resoures had to be mined and taken from the wild like copper and coal and others. Also processing all the metals required lots of energy. Mass producing those resources had a huge and bad effect on the environment.

3. Decisions made by Henry Ford And Others Like Him! Henry Ford’s Decisions General Motors/ Chrysler Allowed Labor unions. Most of the automobile companies did this and ford was left alone to fight against them. General motors and Chrysler both changed their cars’ looks every year. This made the people want to buy them more thus making general motors more money. Also they made the decision of allowing customers to pay for their cars over a long period of time while ford demanded full payment at the time the car was sold to the customer. This was also a big reason customers went to them instead of ford. • Henry ford made many decisions. One of the most important ones was the assembly line. That made prices drop a lot which made Henry huge profits This allowed him to fully own the company. He also paid his workers 5 dollars instead of two. This kept his workers from leaving and loyal. All of this control by Ford was made possible by him buying up all the stocks and owning the company by himself. One bad decision was not changing the appearance of the model t. Then he had to shut down it’s production because everybody went to general motors instead. His mistake was also not allowing customers to pay for their cars over a long period of time, the others did.

4. How the Industry Impacted Michigan’s Population and Other Characteristics! Where the Industry Began, Migrants, and Migrations. Impact On Michigan The huge amount of immigrants coming into Michigan greatly changed its population and cities. The population skyrocketed and the cities grew quickly. Many immigrants. Many of the people living in Michigan right now are immigrants because of the automobile industry that brought that ancestors and grandmas and grandpas here. The migrations had a positive effect on Michigan. It now had a big population and was a place for people looking for work to move to. Everything Began when the motor was invented. It changed transportation everywhere. Because of it, huge car producing industries grew in places like Detroit. These huge factories needed workers to work the machines which is where the immigrants came. With many jobs opening up, Immigrants from everywhere came to Michigan in search of jobs and a place to live. At first you had to know how to assemble a car and many other things. But thanks to Henry ford’s invention of the assembly line, immigrants could be taught to do jobs and cars were produced a lot faster.

5. Michigan During and after the revolution!!! Many cars were built, but who built those cars and where did they come from? What happened to Michigan because of the industrial revolution? The industrial revolution bosted the economy of michigan greatly, Many cars were produced and sold and many jobs were open. Thanks to factory jobs, the unemployment rate dropped a lot which in turn bumped our economy up. A bad impact on Michigan was how the environment turned out. The factories produced a great amount of smoke which polluted the air in Michigan greatly. The population of Michigan skyrocketed thanks to the great amount of immigrants coming to Michigan. Also the amount of homeowners increased greatly. Many cars were built, but by who? By immigrants. They came from all over the country in search of jobs. Immigrants came because of the large amounts of open jobs, the good pay and in search of a place to settle. Many of them found home or a place to live and settled down. To this day, Michigan has a huge amount of Americans whose ancestors where immigrants who came in search of jobs. The cities like warren and Detroit have largest amounts of immigrants even to this day.

6. The Automobile's Imprint on the Landscape Automobiles changed the society and landscape of Michigan greatly. Automobiles made touring Michigan and other states extremely easy. It also cut down on both of these: isolation, the high cost of transporting farm products, and the labor of farm work.  Although farmers may have resisted the automobile at first, by the 1920s per capita automobile ownership by rural families was greatly at large. The introduction of the automobiles also caused change to Michigan's landscape. Great tunnels called highways were dud for cars to drive on. This changed the landscape greatly. Also cement roads were made which also changed the landscape and the use of dirt roads. Gas stations and small stores began to spring up everywhere around Michigan and even in rural areas. Also garages for cars were added to houses which caused the house to take up more space which made houses cost more. But all-in-all, The automobile industry was a good influence on America and Michigan alike!
