The Edward Confessor’s choosing Edward the Confessor had no heir, and as he got on very well with William I , his cousin . He decided to appoint future King of England when he is dead . Harold was not happy, he would have preferred to become the King of England in place of William I.
Battle of Hastings When Edward died, Harold did not honor his promise. He did not send a message to William I because he wanted to be crowned as the future King. William I decided to fight against him to regain his throne
The winner of the Battle of Hastings were William I and the Norman-army.
King William I William I became king, and he reigned in Britain but also in Normandy. It was both King and Duke. He led a good life, and he thought that France will keep Britain forever .
