Ranking of Real I enjoyed every second I was here at Real. It was a great work environment and I learned so many valuable lessons in communication, event management, volunteer management, computer skills, registration, and so much more. Being able to see the business side of Real and a soccer club was extremely beneficial because being able to relate to both sides will be an important trait that many will possess. Having the chance to work at a place that I was so familiar with gave me the chance to be comfortable to express my opinions, and also gave the people around me the confidence and trust to give me projects and assignments.

Word of Wisdom Real has a great work environment that is fun and relaxed but everyone is motivated to reach the final goal; which is to be one of the most prestige clubs in the nation. They have created a place that produces and demands excellence so being able to adapt and adjust to any given situation is important. Always be excited to learn and never be afraid to ask questions because they worst thing you could do is not understand and do your assignment wrong.
OBJECTIVES • My overall objective during my internship was to learn the business and coaching side of Real Colorado and see how a non-profit organization is ran. • I was able to do some event planning and management during our Casino Real event that took place in March. I learned the necessary skills to properly manage volunteers and donation procurement. • I assisted our marketing coordinator and several coaches with prospect research and information necessary to make Real’s community outreach program bigger and better. I was fortunate enough to be able to work on the intercity program Real has been trying to establish in the Denver Metro Area. • I took a volunteer assistant coaching job to better understand the day to day schedule of the coaches that are employed by Real. • I also had the opportunity to see the partnership Real and Children’s Hospital has created and was able to shadow a few of them at specific social events and meetings
Day to Day Life Each day brought something new but typically I arrived at the office around 9:30. I checked my emails and responded accordingly, most days I met with my site supervisor, Kari, to discuss critical meetings and important work that needed to get done. Meetings that needed to be held were set appropriately with the correct department head. Once my daily work on projects was complete I would do my journals entries. Once the day came to a close I would head out to the fields to fulfill my coaching duties.
Casino Real Description Casino Real is was the biggest project I worked on during my internship. It is an event that Real puts on annually to raise money for their field complex. During this project I was assigned the role of data enterer. This consisted of sponsorship table data entry, auction item data entry, and raffle ticket accounting. I also worked on item procurement so that we had a substantial number of items for the auction. Along with these duties, I assisted the decoration committee with display and budgeting. I managed volunteers and coordinated when they could come in and help. The day of the event I designated the positioning of our silent auction items and were volunteers could help. Overall it was a great event!
