  4. Capture information • Tech watch with JCIEL people etc • Include all ware eg TLT, MLEs • Needs identification • through others esp LTSN, NILTA • Activity watch • through others esp LTSN, NILTA • Funding opportunity watch

  5. Then process • Summaries • Prepare briefing notes with JISC ASSIST • Commissioning studies • Second piloting to broaden applicability • different environments eg size or mission • different subjects • different management

  6. Then disseminate • Through LTSN • Through NILTA/BECTA/FEDA • Through JISC structures • Through LTSN/ILT portal • Paper • Talks

  7. TechDis (Technology for Disabilities Information Service) • 4 people at York - manager Lawrie Phipps • Technology in support of Accessibility • Coordinate, broker • Commission NIAD,SKILL etc • Use NILTA/LTSN etc for dissemination • Academics now key • Legislation/QAA changes

  8. Early areas • Plagiarism detection • CAA • ECDL overview/ Keyskills packages • Managed Learning Environments • Videoconferencing • Interaction of Pedagogy and Technology • E-learning issues including E-University

  9. Future • Media folk to become more important? • Digital TV to take off? • Yet more professionalism needed? • Design of learning spaces on the agenda? • Virtual environments to increase in importance? • Richer, more relevant L&T DNER? • Kiosks?
